About

ETHX

Nathaniel Charles, aka ETHX, is a Bay Area music producer/composer/recording engineer. ETHX released his first album, "Metaphisik Television", in 2005. Your Music Magazine of Santa Cruz called his freshman release, "hypnotically brilliant". Since, he has worked on a range of projects and collaborated with a variety of artists. Musical artists featured on ETHX tracks include Boots Riley (The Coup), Zumbi (Zion I), Myron Glasper (Stone's Throw Records), Nate Mezmer, Distant Relatives, Erin Nicole, Joe Con, and Sedrick the MC.

ETHX continued working on a variety of EPs, albums, and singles after his first release. His contribution to the indie music community of the Bay Area and LA continued with the creation of Promosapien CDs, a CD duplication company for the starving artist, which was run out of his recording studio. In 2007 The East Bay Times stated that ETHX was a "young record producer looking to combine his fervent passion for music with a hungry, entrepreneurial spirit". In 2010 net label BlocSonic released a "best-of" compilation, titled "Boom to Bloom", which featured a variety of collaborations and solo instrumentals.

ETHX ventured into TV and film where he composed music for Lionsgate's "The Hamiltons", which was distributed internationally. Since, ETHX's music has been placed in VH1's "Behind the Music", Obermeyer Ski promotional videos, and dozens of other independent projects.
